Margie Pendergrass DeFranco's Obituary
Margie Pendergrass DeFranco, 80, left her earthly body to spend eternity with our Heavenly Father on October 24, 2018. She was one of 10 children born to the late Erby and Annie Green Swallows on July 10, 1938 in Cleveland, Tennessee.Margie moved to Fort Myers in 1956 with her husband, CL Pendergrass, where they worked very hard to make a wonderful life for their family as proprietors of the Town and Country Restaurant in Downtown Fort Myers and Young Royalty Fashions in the Edison Mall. Margie later married Joseph DeFranco of Tampa and the couple retired to Apollo Beach, Florida.Margie is survived by her husband, Joseph DeFranco; son, Cecil Pendergrass (Jodi); daughter, Mary Elizabeth Ann Pendergrass Massie (John); daughter-in-law, Debbie Pendergrass; grandchildren, Chris Pendergrass (Lindsay), Christina Milen (John), Brittany Smith (Chad), Michael Massie (Brynn), Brandan and Andrea Pendergrass; and great-grandchildren, Ben, Jaxon, Eli, Ian, Taylor, Landon, and Everlie. She is preceded in death by her husband CL Pendergrass and son Tommy Pendergrass.Margie was the most nurturing, loving, caring and generous wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed.The Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33907. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1:00 PM until the service time at the funeral home.
