Maria De Los Angeles Ortega passed away with her loving family by her side on Friday, August 29, 2014 following a recent illness. She was 55 years old.Maria was born on January 10, 1959 in Cayey, Puerto Rico, the beautiful daughter of Clotilde (Bermudez) and Venerado Menendez. She was married to Jaime Ortega and the couple resided in Cape Coral, Florida. She will be greatly missed by her immediate and extended family and the many people who were proud to call her a friend.A Visitation will be conducted on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM in the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. A Memorial Service will be celebrated following the visitation at 1:00 PM also in the Chapel. Immediately thereafter, friends and family will recess to adjacent Memorial Gardens Cemetery where Maria will be laid to rest in the La Plaza de Paz section.Those who wish to offer condolences to the family at this difficult time are urged to visit Maria’s memorial webpage at www.fortmyersmemorial.com and sign the guestbook.
