Marilyn Helen Adams, 80, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
Family was the center of Marilyn’s world. She is survived by her children, Lisa Shepherd and Renee Fayad, as well as her son-in-law, Angel Melendez. Marilyn also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Kristofer Capone, Asia Shepherd, and Nicole and Samantha Delvecchio, who she loved deeply. She is further survived by her siblings: her brother, David Albertson, and sister-in-law, Cindy Albertson, who was more like a sister to her, and her baby sister, Diane (Jay) Podbielak, who held a special place in her heart.
Marilyn was preceded in passing by her parents, Edward and Doris Albertson, and her brothers, Johnny Albertson and Eddie Albertson.
Born on March 11, 1945, in Manhattan, New York, Marilyn later moved to Long Island, NY, to raise her children, before settling in Cape Coral, Florida. She found great fulfillment in her career as a nurse, where her compassionate heart and unwavering dedication touched countless lives. Outside of her professional life, Marilyn found immense joy in the simple pleasures, and her vibrant spirit was a source of happiness to those around her.
Her warm smile, infectious laughter, and the kindness she showed everyone she met will never be forgotten. Marilyn’s generosity, optimism, and dedication to her family and profession left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Marilyn will be deeply mourned but forever remembered for her loving heart and vibrant spirit. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to alz.org to help fight against this heartbreaking disease.
