Marilyn Packer Stitt's Obituary
Marilyn Packer Stitt of Lehigh Acres, Florida passed away with her loving family by her side on Thursday, February 12, 2015 following some recent health challenges. She was 93 years old.Marilyn was born on December 27, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois, the beautiful daughter of Crystal and Glenn Packer. During World War II she proudly served the war effort first as an armed forces volunteer and later as a member of the United States Navy. She volunteered to serve at a military dance and was fortunate to meet U.S. Army soldier, Blair M. Stitt, who was temporarily stationed in Chicago. Blair would become the love of her life and then her husband. Marilyn and Blair relocated to Lehigh Acres and the couple became active in the community both through their involvement with the local Coldwell Banker Real Estate Office and the Chamber of Commerce. She was even recognized by the Lehigh Chamber as one of their “Volunteers of the Year.”She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her devoted husband Blair M. Stitt, and children David A. Stitt, Patricia Bisler and Jonathan G. Stitt. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and extended family members along with many friends who will greatly miss her company.Immediate funeral arrangements are private. Marilyn’s final resting place will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fort Myers.
