Marjorie C. Yash's Obituary
Marjorie Farragher Yash of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2013, at the age of 93. She was predeceased by her husband, George C. Yash, in 1998. Marjorie was born to Thomas Francis and Katherine (Raub) Farragher on August 9, 1919, in Youngstown, Ohio, one of ten children. Marjorie graduated in 1937 from South High School, where she was on the basketball team, after which she worked for Truscon Steel Co. of Youngstown in the office. Marjorie met and married the love of her life, George C. Yash, and moved to Poland, Ohio. Together, they were charter members of Holy Family Catholic Church, owned and operated the La France Dry Cleaners, and golfed and socialized at Fonderlac Country Club. Marjorie lovingly raised five children and is survived by them: Janet Yash Moore of KY, Christine Yash of Fort Myers, Dr. Thomas Yash (Lynne) of Cincinnati, Richard Yash (Christine) of Pensacola, FL, and Poland, Ohio, and Jeffrey Yash (Nancy) of Fort Myers. Marjorie was active in the Holy Family Church Altar Guild, the Garden Club of Poland, as well as golfing, playing bridge, and making crafts. In 1980, Marjorie and George moved to Fort Myers, Florida, and joined the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord, where Marjorie kept active in the church?ÇÖs Womens?ÇÖ Guild as well as continuing her interests in golf, crafts and cards. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Rosemary Farragher of Youngstown, Ohio, and seven grandchildren: Andrew & James; Kimberly (with great-grandchild Jakub), George & Katherine; Cassandra & Christa. Marjorie was predeceased by her brothers: Robert, Fred, Edward, Frank, Paul, Firmin, Earl, and Wendell and an infant sister, Rita. Visitation for family and friends will be at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home (1589 Colonial Blvd.) from 7-9 pm on Wednesday, May 22, and again on Thursday, May 23, from 9-9:30 am prior to the 10 am Funeral Mass at Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord (8121 Cypress Lake Drive).
