Mark Alan Kerber's Obituary
. Mark Alan Kerber went to his eternal rest on February 5, 2012 at 8:40 a.m. at Health Park Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida. He was born on April 17, 1945 in Springfield, Illinois to Carl and Ada (Braeuninger) Kerber who preceded him in death. He attended Harvard Park Grade School and graduated from Springfield High School in 1963. He also attended Springfield College in Illinois. Mark started his career at the age of 16 at Eisner/Jewel Food Stores and retired in 2000. Mark was an avid golfer and traveler. ?á Mark was a loving and dedicated family man. He loved his grandson Quinn and enjoyed playing and caring for him. He also enjoyed interacting with his nieces and nephews. Mark never knew a stranger, loved people and had numerous friends. ?á He is survived by his wife Karen Kerber (Rees); daughter Melissa Kerber-Long (Shawn Long) of Normal; daughter Melinda Kerber of Springfield;?áGrandson Quinn Long of Normal; brother Gary Kerber (Joella) of Alpharetta, Georgia; niece Lori Kerber; niece Krista Heidari (Mo); and nephew Brian Kerber (Celeste); great nieces Anna, Claire, and Kate; and Aunt Cleo Braeuninger. ?á Services will be held on February 18, 2012 at Elliott Avenue Baptist Church, 501 W. Elliott Avenue, Springfield. Visitation will begin 8:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to Make ?ÇôA?ÇôWish Foundation, the Edinburg Food Pantry in care of the Edinburg United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 170, Edinburg, Illinois 62531 or charity of your choice.
