Marlyn T Hetrick's Obituary
Marlyn "Molly" Hetrick, 86, of Fort Myers, Florida, went to be with the Lord on March 11, 2023. She was 86.
Born in Washington, DC on September 22, 1936, Mrs. Hetrick moved to Fort Myers in 1960, where she and her husband, Mahlon L. Hetrick, raised their three sons.
The true cornerstone of Molly's life since childhood has been her steadfast Christian faith, which provided her with guidance, direction and purpose throughout her life. Her devotion to the Lord was clearly demonstrated in the love she gave to her family and those who were blessed to be drawn into her circle of loved ones. Her greatest pleasure was found in the time she shared with her family.
Throughout her adult years, Molly’s desire to be a reflection of Christ's love was seen in her tireless efforts to help others. She was particularly sensitive to the needs of the elderly and over the course of her life, she took care of many older family members, neighbors and friends.
Molly was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Hager and her parents, Milton Henderson and Inez Moran. After the passing of her sister, Molly extended her family circle by informally adopting Peggy's three children as her own.
Survivors include her loving husband of 69 years, Mahlon Hetrick; her three sons, Gary (Carol) Hetrick; Daniel Hetrick; and Kenneth (Carol) Hetrick. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and dear friends.
A Funeral Service for Molly will be celebrated by Pastor Jim Holbrook at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 25, 2023 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Guests will be received and welcome to gather for a half-hour preceding this ceremony beginning at 10:30 AM also inside the funeral home chapel. At the conclusion of the service, family and friends will recess to adjacent Memorial Gardens Cemetery where Marlyn will be laid to rest at the family Crypt located inside the Mausoleum at the Hall of Crucifixion. At the conclusion of the funeral and committal exercises at Memorial Gardens, all are welcome to attend a Time of Fellowship at McGregor Baptist Church, 3750 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33966 where family and friends alike will remember a life well-lived and celebrate the many ways she touched the lives of those she knew along her journey.
