Martin Teijido's Obituary
Martin Teijido, affectionately known as “El Gallego” passed away on January 1, 2026, in Cape Coral, Florida, where he had lived for over 4 years. Born in Galicia, Spain on December 18, 1939 to the late Domingo and Francisca Teijido. He is survived by his children Elizabeth Schultz (Tyler), Oliver Teijido (Andrea), and Alexander Teijido, along with his grandchildren Tyler A. Schultz Jr. (Tori), Omara S. Teijido, Jack M. Schultz (Megan), Benjamin Teijido, and Nolan Teijido. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years; Alida Teijido, his brother Benjamin Teijido, and his in-laws Mario Cadavieco, Omar Majado, Alvaro Pie, Haydee Majado, and nephew Nelson Majado.
At the age of 18 Martin moved to Cuba, where he met Alida; before migrating to the United States of America. Martin retired from Ford Motor Company and was known as a jack of all trades. With the help of his relatives, he built his family’s first home from the ground up, a testament to his dedication as a family man. He was a loving leader, provider, and protector. His family and friends will remember him as levelheaded, kindhearted, hardworking, generous, and intelligent. Alongside his wife, he worked hard to provide for his family, leaving a lasting impression on his grandchildren, who will honor his legacy with their own strong work ethic. It was a privilege to have him as a father and grandfather. Until we meet again, Pa and Abuelo. We love you!
The funeral will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Fort Myers Memorial Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33907. Burial will follow at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Calling Hours will be from 11 am until the time of the service at Fort Myers Memorial Funeral Home.
