I knew Marvin as a fellow resident of Upper Linden, Indiana University. I did not know him well, but I remember him as a cheerful, friendly young man who was always smiling. I liked him and I believe everyone else in the dorm did, too. I am sorry to learn of his passing.Ashley Hastings
Sorry for your loss. Marvin and I went to Fillmore School together. We rode the same school bus. It usually took us 40 minutes or so to get to school. Marvin was extremely intelligent. He always knew the answers in class and knew how to expand info on everything. He was different in his own way. When the choir had a music contest or performance he would wear make-up. Back then boys didn't wear make-up. Other kids talked about it and made fun of him, but he didn't let that stop him from doing what he felt like doing. Marvin was a very likeable person. He didn't think anyone would want to see him at our 50th year alumni banquet. HE WAS WRONG. I had many good times talking and laughing with Marvin. The people that became friends with Marvin later in life were truly blessed to have such a great friend. I hope someone reads this. I just learned of his passing today.
