Marvin Ronald Shacket's Obituary
Marvin Ronald Shacket, 90, a resident of North Fort Myers, Florida since 1995, formerly of New York passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 under the care of Hope Hospice. He was born February 7, 1933 in Rochester, NY to the late Nathan and Bella (nee Zelekman) Shacket.
Marvin was a proud United States Army Veteran. After graduating from RIT, he spent his career as a tool and die maker at Eastman Kodak Co. for 28 years. His love for hunting and fishing began with his service while stationed in Alaska. His passion for bowling and especially golf was beyond measure. With his wonderful creativity, he ventured into creating Sammy Pac lures and a board game Mulligan’s Wild. He even created a disco necklace during the disco era. His imagination seemed endless. His need for hearing laughter was always close by with his joke telling. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennifer and four grandsons, Teddy, Adam, Jacob and Travis.
He is survived by his three daughters, Debra Schue of Medina, NY, Sharon Voellinger (Timothy) of Palmyra, NY and Karen Voellinger (Todd) of Rochester, NY; five grandchildren, Michael, Carrie (Angel), Tony (Carol Ann), Kristy (Rich) and Tyler; seven great grandchildren, Mharina (Jerry), Mikey, AJ, Aryanna, Elijah, Caleb and Rebekah; as well as three great great grandchildren, Noah, Elijah and Isiah.
Marvin will be laid to rest with his wife at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, FL.
