Mary Jane Sheridan's Obituary
Mary Jane Sheridan 86, of Fort Myers, Florida died peacefully on August 18, 2022 with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Thomas Sheridan for 64 years.
She was a loving mother to sons Michael Sheridan and his wife Maureen, John Sheridan and his wife Michelle Richards, daughters Karen Sheridan and her husband Chris Clark, Mary Sheridan Clough, Martha Potvin and husband Brian. She will be deeply missed by her nine grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Brian and Ian Sheridan ; Emma and Kathryn Sheridan; Alex and Megan Clough ; and Maggie and Elizabeth Potvin.
Born in Providence, RI, Mary Jane was the daughter of Michael and Mary Traficante. Mary Jane grew up in East Providence, RI, graduated from St Mary’s Academy and Salve Regina University in Newport, RI. After raising her 5 children, she began a career as a real estate agent and was co-owner of Harper, Ramos and Sheridan Realty in Bristol, RI.
Mary Jane and Tom began their life together in East Providence, RI. They moved to Touisset Point in Warren, RI where they raised their family and lived for 35 years, before making their full time residence in Fort Myers, FL in 2001.
MaryJane will be remembered for her deep faith and love of life. She loved to dance, sing, golf, and play tennis. She had a passion for cooking and needlepoint. She loved to entertain and cook for her family and dear friends. She leaves behind many friends from the Touisset Point and Kelly Greens communities. Mary Jane was a devoted member of St. Mary of the Bay Church in Warren and St. Columbkille Church in Fort Myers, where she served as a long time member of the choir.
Mary Jane's funeral with visitation will be on Friday October 21st with visitation starting at 10:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial starting at 11:00 am at St. Columbkille Church, 2171 Iona Rd., Fort Myers, FL 33908. Internment will follow the Mass in St. Columbkille’s Memorial Garden.
