Mary Carolyn Langtry's Obituary
Mary Carolyn Langtry, 79, of Chippewa Bay, NY, and Matlacha, FL, peacefully departed on August 11, 2024—the same day she entered this world—surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 11, 1945, in Ogdensburg, NY, Carolyn was the only daughter of (Joseph) Émile and Marjorie Alice (Edgar) Faubert. After graduating from Hammond High School and attending SUNY Plattsburg, she married, Paul W. Langtry, on September 10, 1965. Together, they shared 56 wedded years, raising three sons and building a life of partnership.
Carolyn was a devoted wife and mother whose warmth and creativity touched everyone who knew her. She crafted beautiful quilts that wrapped her family and friends in love and comfort, just as her vibrant flowerbeds brightened everyone’s days. Her love for birdwatching reflected her spirit and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. She treasured the beauty of the waters and breathtaking sunsets along the St. Lawrence River and Matlacha Pass. She and Paul ran Langtry’s Upholstery and Custom Canvas until their retirement in 2015, and were deeply involved in their community.
Carolyn leaves behind her sons: Paul F. (Donna) Langtry of Canton, NY; Travis (Kim) Langtry of Spotsylvania, VA; and Kayne (Christine) Langtry of Hammond, NY; her grandchildren, Travis (“Jaime”), Logan, Lilly, Kaitlin, and Julia Langtry; great-grandchildren, Caleb Langtry, Mari Houchin, and Olivia Langtry; and her older brother, Victor Faubert, of Jackson, NJ, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Carolyn’s life was a testament to love, family, and community. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held at Langbrook Meadows Golf Course 95 Hamel Rd. Brier Hill, NY on September 1, 2024 at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hammond Fire Department would be greatly appreciated through Cody Bicklehaupt.
