Mary Ellen Notaro's Obituary
Mary Ellen Notaro, of North Fort Myers, passed peacefully on Friday, September 30, 2022, in Cape Coral. Mary was born February 11, 1943, to Mathew and Dorothy Horan in Brooklyn, New York. Mary and her husband Dominick met at Hicksville High School and were married in 1966. They stayed in Hicksville and raised their family. Mary worked in the food service industry, aerospace industry and in law offices throughout her life. However, her primary job was raising her children and anchoring the family. Mary and Dominick decided to move to Florida in 1998 to be closer to their grandchildren and enjoy retirement.
Mary or Chickie as she was known to family and friends had many lifelong friendships’s that she cherished. These friendships defined her life and were the source of many wonderful memories for her and her family, in fact these friends were considered family and remained close till her passing.
Mary is preceded in passing by her parents and leaves her loving memory with her survivors, loving husband Dominick, son Rick, daughter Denise, daughter in law Shawna, grandchildren Cassandra, Brittni, Chloe, Garrett and Eddie, a brother Danny and sister Karen. She also has many nieces and nephews that she touched during her life.
Family, friends and others whose lives were touched by Chickie are invited to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home located at 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, the 20th of November, 2022 to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat.
