Mary Jane Porter's Obituary
Mary Jane Porter was joined with the Lord on December 8, 2010. Mary Jane was born to Louis Schlossstein and Myrtle Blunk (formerly of Denton, Michigan), on July 10th, 1919. ?áMary Jane has been a lifelong member of the American Legion Auxillary?á and was a 4th grade teacher in Davison, Michigan for 26years. Aside from her teaching, Mary Jane also enjoyed playing Pinochle and Eucre. ?áCentury 21 Community will greatly miss Mary Jane, as she has spent the last 30 years in that neighborhood. She will also be greatly missed at her church, Faith United Methodist in Fort Myers. ?áMary Jane is predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Lynn Porter; her parents, Louis and Myrtle; her brother, Louis, Jr and her grandson Jason. ?áThe family members that will keep her memories alive will be her 2 daughters, Janice(Jerry) Weatherwax of Lehigh Acres, FL and Nancy Porter of Mt Pleasant, MI; her grandchildren, Jennifer(Jay) Besser of Stanley, NC, Gretchen(Rob) Petrie of Fort Myers and Joe Weatherwax of Fort Myers; and her great Grandchildren Kayla and Justin Besser. ?áFuneral Services will be held at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, December 11, 2010. The family will be receiving guests from 12-1 on Saturday for viewing and a service to begin at 1:00pm. A reception for her friends at Century 21 Community will be at 3:00pm.
