Mary Lou Rees' Obituary
Mary Lou Rees of Ft. Myers, FL passed away comfortably at Hope Hospice on Sunday, September 21st. Born March 3, 1931 in Tulsa, OK to Robert R. and Mary S. Cooper, she moved around as a proud “Army Brat.” After a stint in Alaska, Mary Lou, went to college at the University of Missouri and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. Mary Lou moved to Florida from Indianapolis eighteen years ago with her mother, Mary (who preceded her in death). While living in Indianapolis she worked in civil service and enjoyed being a mother of two. She is survived by daughter Paige (grandson Mace and granddaughter Morgan) and son Kurt (daughter-in-law Tricia, granddaughter Reese and grandson Jack). She enjoyed her time in Florida, volunteering, playing bridge and dining out with many great friends. She was a member of Greeters and Contemporary Women’s Club of Ft. Myers. A Memorial Service will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church 7401 Winkler Road Fort Myers, FL 33919. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society 4575 Via Royale, Fort Myers, FL 33919. Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is serving the family.
