Mary Argietta Jones Rich Singer's Obituary
Mary Argietta Jones Rich SInger, 97, of Cape Coral, Florida passed on June 11, 2025. Mary was born September 29, 1927, in Mobile, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Matthew and Velma Kruse Jones. She was also preceded by her sisters, Alice Jones Hubbard, Ada Belle Jones Degeer, and Runell Jones Kirk; and brothers, Andrew Jones, William Jones, and Larry Jones.
Mary is survived by her sons, Tollie West Rich, Jr. and wife Mary of Cape Coral, Florida, and Jon Carl Rich of Salem, West Virginia; and grandson, Dustin Samuel West Rich of Cape Coral, Florida. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Elaine Jones of Irvington, Alabama.
Mary graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama. She worked as a bookkeeper for various jewelry businesses and as an administrative assistant for a senior executive at International Paper when she transferred to New York City. Later, she worked in Human Resources at the Naval Shipyard in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she retired. She lived in Medford, New Jersey, until she returned to Bayou La Batre, Alabama, to help take care of relatives.
Mary moved to Cape Coral in 2005 and volunteered at National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) and the Cape Coral Hospital. Mary loved to knit, crochet, and take care of her cats. She was owner/ publisher/ and editor of an Arts and Crafts Magazine.
