Mary A. Strzepka's Obituary
Mary A. Strzepka of Fort Myers, Florida passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 11, 2014 following a recent decline in her health. Mrs. Strzepka was 97 years old.She was born on May 29, 1917 in Ludlow, Massachusetts, the beautiful daughter of Anna (Skuba) and Antoni Obrzut. Mary was married to Frank J. Strzepka and together they raised two wonderful children. In addition to her duties as a loving parent and dutiful wife, Mary was also employed in one of the biggest industries in Western Massachusetts at that time, working as a fabricator in one of the area’s many box manufacturing facilities. She was a member of the Ludlow Polish Women’s Group and was also a woman of great faith who was an active parishioner at Christ the King Catholic Church in Ludlow. She became a member of the Daughters of Christ the King, Ladies Guild and Rosary Society at the church and upon relocating to Southwest Florida, Mary became a parishioner at Saint John XXIII Church where she remained involved in many religious activities. She most recently resided in Assisted Living at Manor Care in Fort Myers where she was named “Queen of the Manor” as one of their most popular residents. Mary was a very social person who could always be seen with a smile on her face.She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her children Ann K. Foye (Tom) of Ludlow, Massachusetts and Marilyn Pineau (Ron) of Fort Myers; her grandchildren Thomas Foye (Beth), Kevin Foye (Karen), Dustin Pineau (Karen) and Meredith Townsend (Brian) and 11 great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Madison, Morgan, Owen, Avery, Egan, Everett, Jaryd, Jordyn, Logan and Bailey. Mary also leaves behind a brother, Casimer Obrzut of Ludlow, Massachusetts, a number of other extended family members and a host of people who were touched by her sweetness and smile. Sadly, she was predeceased by her husband Frank who died in 1980.A memorial service is being planned for a future date and will occur in Mary’s hometown of Ludlow.
