Mary Duffy Wood's Obituary
Mary (Mamie) Duffy Wood, 103, born in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Paul J. Duffy and Clara K. Duffy, in 1921. Mamie was the eldest of three children. She attended Mount de Chantal Academy, Seton Hill, and West Liberty College.
Mary is survived by her children, Donna Wood Stuek (Jeff), Austin V Wood, III (Jane), and James Brian Wood (Paff); five grandchildren, Beth Hobe Chaffins, Andrea Hobe, Jeffrey Stuek, Jr., Duncan Stuek, and Blake Austin Wood; three great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Harper Stuek, and Maggie Chaffins; son-in-law, David Hobe; and sister, Jane Duffy Fischer.
She was preceded in passing by her loving husband of 62 years, Austin V. Wood, Jr.; children, Deborah Wood Hobe and Paul Duffy Wood (Tina); and brother, Robert J. Duffy.
Mrs. Wood was a member of The Church of the Resurrection and of Whiskey Creek Country Club. She was in Real Estate with VIP Realty for 15 years.
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial in her honor on Monday, March 31, 2025, at The Church of Resurrection of Our Lord at 11:30 a.m. Burial to be held at a later time.
In lieu of flowers Mary requests donations be made in her honor to The Church of Resurrection of Our Lord or St. Jude’s.
