Mary Ann Woodruff's Obituary
Mary Ann Woodruff, 87 of Fort Myers was called to heaven on Monday, February 3, 2025. She was born in Gulfport, FL and moved to Fort Myers when she was 2 years old and has been a lifelong resident. She was predeceased by her parents Mary Fenn and Eli Woodruff, brothers William E. and Loy E. Woodruff and granddaughter, Victoria.
She is survived by her children Susan (John) Carter, Mary Gay (Jim) Morris, Dan (Anita) Vasiloff; grandchildren Kate (Chris) Rowell, James (Marvel) Morris, Michael (Alison) Pritchard, Annie Pritchard, Madalyn Morris, Johnathan and Caroline Carter, and Cameron Vasiloff; great grandchildren: Evelyn Pritchard, Bo Rowell, Rowen and Jude Morris, Emma Pritchard and numerous nieces, nephews, and long-time friends.
Mary Ann’s proudest accomplishment was raising three successful children. She graduated from Ft. Myers High in 1955 and went on to Stetson University in Deland. She enjoyed helping others, sewing and collecting linens and buttons, playing bridge and hosting family gatherings. Her volunteer activities included Allen Park Elementary School, Fort Myers Little League, Welcome Wagon, Brownies, Girl Scouts, the Junior Welfare League, the Elizabeth Benevolent Society and St. John’s Episcopal Church boutique.
Her career spanned decades and included serving as Interim Director and Administrator for the Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium; employment at First Federal Savings and Loan; Welcome Wagon; KM Distributor; Antiques collector, enthusiast and vendor at Flowers to Fifties, the Open Door and most recently at Eyeing the Past Antiques.
She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church which recently became Citygate Ministries. Every day she read her devotional and made notations in the margins, something we’ll always treasure. Mary Ann’s love of life, fun spirit, and southern sayings will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, February 22nd at 12 noon at Ft. Myers High School, 2635 Cortez Blvd. Ft. Myers, 33901. Private interment is at Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd. Fort Myers, FL. 33907.
