Mary Lou Yaufman's Obituary
Mary Lou Yaufman of Ft. Myers, Fl passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026. Mary Lou was born August 11, 1937 in Columbus, Ohio, her parents were James and Helen Jones. Mary Lou's education started with her graduation from St. Mary's of the Springs Academy, then Mount Carmel School of Nursing and later obtaining her nurse practitioner's licenses in geriatric and family care which made her the first working nurse practitioner in Lee county. Mary and Jim Yaufman were married for 54 years and raised six children. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim and their oldest daughter Jennifer Yaufman. She is survived by her children, Laurie Champion , Kris Urbanowicz (Bob), Marlisa Cornell Harrell (Tim), Carina Guillard (Jim)and son James Yaufman II . Mary's life was very blessed with her grand children and great grandchildren. She was very active with her nursing associations , even helping to create the SW Fl Society of Retired Registered Nurses. Mary Lou always enjoyed social gatherings, her memberships in the Continental Club, Lee County Pioneer Club, four bridge clubs, Red Hatters and always shopping.
Memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis on Thursday, March 12th at 10 am.
