MaryAnn Pickles' Obituary
MaryAnn Pickles, 70, a long time resident of Sanibel Island, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2010. She was born on April 12, 1940 in Newark, NJ to Virginia Doganier and Louis Colarusso. MaryAnn retired to Florida in 1988 but has recently returned to “snowbird” status. She enjoyed traveling and sightseeing. She also found great pleasure in teaching religious classes for many years at St. Isabel Catholic Church on Sanibel. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Gerald R., two children and their spouses; Mark Sikora and Deborah Notelle, and Rebecca and Roger G. Pickles; 2 grandchildren Jonathan Gerald Notelle and Jacob Thomas Pickles; and two brothers and their spouses of New Jersey, Elizabeth and Dominick Colarusso and MaryAnn and Roger Colarusso; 4 nephews, 1 niece, and six grand nieces and nephews. Although friends and family will miss her, they know she found great comfort in her Catholic faith. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 from 5-7 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at St. Isabel Catholic Church, 3559 Sanibel-Captiva Rd., in Sanibel with entombment to follow at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
