My parents lived across from Matt, years ago. Then my brother and his family lived across from him for awhile. Matt would come over when I would visit my family members, and tell all sorts of stories. My parents always spoke kindly about him, and were very sadden by the news of his passing. When my brothers family live across from Matt, he bought my niece a violin, as she was learning to play at school. I remember seeing him sitting out under his pole barn quit a lot. He was a wonderful man. Matt will truly be missed by all the people who was lucky enough to have had him in their lives. I hope your family can have some comfort by knowing that, Matt's life made a difference in this world.

We will truly miss Mr. Matt I have know him since I was a kid.All my children have been growing up to know him as a kind, gentle man who always had candy for them went they would visit him. We will miss Matt. When I worked at LCEC, he always kept me laughing with his antics. He was a faithful friend and we will miss his smiling face and his old truck driving the roads. God Bless you all!

My family and I had the privledge of knowing Uncle Matt. My father in law at the time, Felix Uzzell, and Uncle Matt spent many holidays and memorable family occassions that we still reflect on. We remember Uncle Matt and the stories that he told with much affection. My Dad still has a picture of a WWI plane given to him by Uncle Matt hanging in his home office. I will miss my friend Matt. He used to stop in my little music store in the Ortiz Flea Market and we would have a chat. He knew everyone, and when I would walk with him many people would stop to greet him. He would buy small guitars to give to children at the Church. Rest well, my friend.

Ann/Gloria/Jim & Cindy We were so sorry to hear that your dad, father-in law and uncle had passed away. Matt was certainly one to listen to, as if you took the time to listen there was always something you would learn, especially about Lee County. He contained a wealth of wisdom and who can argue with his limited food menu, as it got him 92 years of good health. Ann you were a great help to your dad and I know he was always proud of you and I know he felt that when you married Jim Myers fate and luck had entered your world……just kidding, but all kidding aside you were a great daughter to your dad.
