Mavis A. Brown's Obituary
Mavis A. Brown, 93 years of age, of North Fort Myers, Florida passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Hope Hospice North in Cape Coral, Florida. Mrs. Brown was born in Washington County, Florida on October 29, 1919, a daughter of the late Ashley B. Waller and Cora Belle Wilcox Waller. Mavis was the widow of the late Lloyd E. Brown who passed away in March of 1983. She was a member of the North Fort Myers First Baptist Church for over 50 years. She loved being outdoors and spending time doing gardening. She was one of the best seamstresses in the area and sewing became a major part of her life. She also did volunteer sewing for Hospice of Lee County. Mrs. Brown got the most enjoyment and satisfaction in life being with her loving family. Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband were three siblings, Jessie Dempsey, Betty Brown and Charles Waller .She had resided in North Fort Myers since 1945. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Donald B. (Ann) Brown of North Fort Myers, Florida; her grandchildren, Jeff (Colleen) Brown of Cape Coral, Florida and Amy Brown Bond of Fort Myers, Florida; her great- grandchildren, Christopher (Hannah) Bond of Kentucky, Michael Bond of Fort Myers, Florida and Ryan Brown, Jordan Brown and Logan Brown all of Cape Coral, Florida; her brothers, Ernest (Marie) McDade of Powder Springs, Georgia and Terry (Lois) McDade of Vernon, Florida. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, November 1, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, Florida 33907.
