Maximo Joseph Santiago, 66, of Cape Coral, FL, died May 24, 2017 at his residence. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 26, 2017 at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 1922 SW 20th Ave, Cape Coral, FL 33991. Cremation rites will be held at a later date. Memorials: Food for the Poor. Maximo was born May 8, 1951 in New York, NY, the son of Maximo and Carmen (Boneta) Santiago. He was formerly an owner of liquor stores in Puerto Rico, had served as a district sales manager for GNC, was an owner of Maxi-Tile and most recently a sales manager for Select Comfort. Max was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church. He enjoyed music and sports and had spent many years as a coach for his children’s sports. Surviving are his wife Melissa of Cape Coral; mother, Carmen Boneta De Santiago of Fort Myers; children, Dr. Maximo Santiago (Maria Jose) of Cape Coral, Dr. Angel Santiago (Shawn), Rosalyn Hulett (Jeremy) of Memphis, TN; step daughter, Casey Flatt (Dr. Austin Flatt) of Sugarland, TX; ten grandchildren, Sofia, Lucas, Matias, Camila, Mia, Vera, Isabella, Aaron, Ethan and Isaac. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Ana Brandon.
