Melvin Aubrey Daniels' Obituary
Melvin Aubrey Daniels of Cape Coral, Florida left this world peacefully with his loving family by his side on Friday, December 16, 2016 following some recent health challenges. He was 75 years old.Melvin was born on May 21, 1941 in Washington, D.C., the proud son of Rita (Lewis) and George Daniels. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960-1963 and following his military service worked for Western Pest Control for many years before retiring as General Manager of the DC/Maryland/Virginia branch. Mel was the loving husband of 32 years to Terry A. (Sharp) Daniels.Mel and Terry were members of the Chesapeake Yacht Club and he loved boating on the Chesapeake Bay. He was also a devoted fan of the Washington Redskins and always enjoyed the company of friends and family. Mel lived in the Washington D.C/Northern Virginia area his entire life except for a stint in Germany while in the Army, moving to Cape Coral, FL in 2001.Mel leaves behind his precious wife Terry A. Daniels; children Mark J. Daniels (Kim), Rebecca Daniels Brown (Rusty), Stepson David C. Pryor, Stepdaughter Gail M. Pryor; grandchildren Christy McCune (Brance), Joseph Lebida; Samantha Daniels and Kassidy Daniels; step-grandson Evan A. Anderson; great-grandson: Brance McCune; brothers: Mark “Brad” Daniels (Ann), Jerry Daniels (Margaret) and Gene Daniels (Kellee) and his sisters Gail Blevins (Butch) and Wendy Craft. Mel also leaves to cherish his memory numerous nieces and nephews, many extended family members and countless others who were pleased to call him a friend.Immediate funeral ceremonies are private.
