Melvin Darnell Love, 67, was born on September 11, 1957, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late George and Betty Love.
Melvin of Fort Myers, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024.
Melvin called Florida his home in 2002. After moving to Florida, he worked in construction as a steelworker.
Melvin graduated from Guntersville High school in 1976 in Guntersville, Alabama. He enjoyed many years of playing football, basketball, and ran track for his high school.
Melvin is preceded in passing by his parents, his sisters Donna Jorge and Tamara Love of Fort Myers, FL, brother Denzel Ellis and niece Shamika Love.
Melvin leaves his loving memory with his survivors, daughter Tamieka Love of Fort Myers, son Melvin Love Jr of Fort Myers, FL, brother Butch of Guntersville, AL, seven grandchildren Juliana, Ivan, Dariyah, Sa’Liyah, Ja’Darrian, Ta’Darien, and Kayden, and love of his life Lisa Haris.
Aunts Joyce Brown of Bermingham, AL, Elizabeth Franklin of Las Vegas, NV, Linda Stanley (Ossie) of Jacksonville, FL, Lorrine Moore and Ruby Moore of Guntersville, AL, Mary Catherine Montgomery of Knoxville, TN, nieces Kaprina Love, Jakena Watkins, nephews Jerod (Hillary) Cooney, Brent Avery, and Christopher Love.
Melvins family has entrusted Fort Myers Memorial Gardens with the tender care of his final arrangements. There will be a visitation Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 1-4PM.
