Dear Debra and Kenny and Wallace Family,
I was thinking about the recent devastation to the southern Florida coast. I previously worked for a leasing company in Lancaster County Pennsylvania, Town &Country Leasing. Kenny may remember me as I did most of my leasing transactions back in the late 90s and early 2000's. I got to know your father Norman quite well. My husband and I traveled to Fort Myers Beach to vacation a couple of times and had dinner with Norman and Merle and also toured Wallace International while there. I had many transactions with Wallace while working at Town and Country Leasing, and relied heavily on Norm's expertise and valued his training he shared with me. I miss him dearly and because of hurricane Ian, I found Merle's obituary. She was such a fine southern lady. My husband and I were dating the first trip we made to Fort Myers Beach and Norm and Merle told us about this wonderful island.....Sanibel Island. On our 2nd trip a year later we stayed on Sanibel and of course joined Norman and Merle for another dinner while there. I cherish those memories with them both. My husband and I got engaged while on that trip to Sanibel which also holds a special place in our hearts. We am so sorry for the loss and devastation your area has endured this past week. I was saddened to learn of Merles passing last May while searching stories about hurricane Ian. O immediately wondered if Merle was still alive. I was so pleased to see she lived to 92 years of age. She certainly did live a long and fruitful life, and I know how much her children and grandchildren meant to her and Norman as we shared those thoughts in our many conversations. I was also sorry to read the dealership was sold in March of 2020. The legacy of your Parents goes on through all of you. You should feel proud and blessed to have had such amazing and fun Parents. I will remember them fondly forever.
Sincerely,

Aunt Merle was one of our favorite people. She was extremely kind and cared about everyone. She really listened when you spoke to her and took an interest in everything you had to say. She was a wonderful hostess and enjoyed company. Gary and I really enjoyed visiting her and loved all her remodeling. I always admired her for raising a family and working at the same time. She was really something..... imagine working with your husband all those years! She will be missed.
