Michael Joseph Dineen's Obituary
Michael Joseph Dineen, 61, passed away from a heart attack in his home on November 24, 2018. He was born on June 29, 1957 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Ruth and Kevin Dineen.Mike had 5 brothers and 3 sisters. He lovingly referred to his Indiana home as “The Zoo”. Some of his favorite memories took place on the family sailboat, “The Jamaru”. It was only fitting that he would meet his wife in the sailing club, at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.Mike married Kim in 1980. After graduating, they moved to Fort Myers, Florida and had two amazing children, Kelsey and Ryan. Mike established his own company “Software Solutions” and spent over 20 years as the IT guy for doctors, lawyers and businesses in and around Fort Myers. In 2013, Mike became the IT Manager for The HomeMag. THM became more than a job, it became family.Mike was the kind of guy that was hard to forget and never knew a stranger. If you were lucky enough to become friends with him, you would be his friend for life. He has been described as loving, goofy and full of life. He was all of those things and so much more.Mike could fix anything, even if he initially didn’t know how, he would figure it out. His favorite things were traveling, camping, reading, eating out with friends and boating. Boating was his hydro therapy. But most of all, Mike loved his family. He was always there for them, supported them, entertained them and helped them. He was able to spend time with all the Dineens at Ryan and Devin’s wedding. He was able to walk his daughter down the aisle, when she married Kyle. He spent two weeks traveling with his wife and all 4 of his children. He made memories with his family that they will never forget. Mike was a great man, loving husband and the best dad.Mike’s life will be celebrated on Sunday, March 17, 2019 in Fort Myers Florida. This happens to be his favorite holiday, St. Patrick’s Day. This is how Mike would want to be remembered. Details will follow. The family asks that donations be made to Captains for Clean Water instead of sending flowers.Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Kevin and Ruth Dineen. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife Kim, his children Kelsey, Ryan and Devin Dineen. Michael will be dearly missed by his siblings Pat, Kevin (Amy), Sue, Tom (MaryAnn), Megan (Russ), John, Brian (Debbie) and Tara.
