Michael John Nelson's Obituary
Michael John Nelson of Cape Coral, Florida passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Saturday, November 26, 2022 while receiving care at Health Park Medical Center. He was 79 years old.
Mike was born in Dawson, Minnesota on March 25, 1943, the proud son to Erma Christine (Oman) and Oliver John Nelson. He was a member of the United States Navy and continued his service to our nation's Armed Forces before retiring from the Navy as a Senior Chief Yeoman. Mike immediately thereafter rejoined the Department of the Navy as a civilian employee where he tallied a combined 49 years of enlisted and work service to the Department of the Navy. He was married to and leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Kathy.
A Graveside Memorial Service for Mike will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 3, 2022 inside the Field of Honor located at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Following this service, Military Honors will be offered by the United States Navy in grateful respect for the steadfast contributions he made to the Armed Services and toward the protection of a grateful nation.
