My condolences go out to the Patton family during this trying time. I am deeply saddened to hear about the loss of this great man, but I rejoice in knowing that he is now free from pain and walking with the Lord! I only had the privilege of knowing Mr. Patton for the last year and a half or so, but he made a lasting impression on my life in that short time. He was selfless, encouraging, and always invested in the lives of others. He was always a bright ray of sunshine in the office on a dark day and truly made me proud to be a nurse. His infectious smile, witty comments, and seemingly endless optimism will be greatly missed by myself and all the other nurses and staff at the Florida Cancer Specialists Colonial office. He kept the faith and fought bravely for his life. May he Rest In Peace and may his spirit continue to live on in those whose lives were touched by his compassion. I’ll never forget one of the last encounters I had with him when I told him that I’d see him the next week. He placed his hand on my arm and said “hey, and if you don’t…I’ll see you up there” and pointed towards Heaven with a grin on his face. I know that he is enjoying every moment up there. Until we meet again!
