Well, football season is upon us in a couple of weeks. Started me thinking of Mike and all the good times we had together going to Michigan games and much, much more.
Mike was my good friend for over 60 years. We met in Jr. HS, went to Flint Southwestern HS where we played football, basketball and baseball together. Baseball was his best sport. Our senior year Mike was the quarterback and I was a receiver. He was always throwing the ball long and over my head. Like I said he was better at baseball.
Over the years Mike would always tell me, "If you would have been 6 inches taller, I would have been an All American." Well buddy I wish I could have helped you out. It will be different going to the game without him this year. In your memory Mike I will yell at them and tell them what they should be doing, just like I know you would.
