Michael Duane Thompson's Obituary
Michael Duane Thompson of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2020 following some recent health challenges. He was 67 years old.
Michael was the son of Edna and William Spain of Twin Falls, Idaho and Jean and Dale Thompson of Terrell, Texas. Other survivors include his brother Rob Thompson (Cynthia) of Pasadena, Maryland; sisters Karen Ayers (Gerald) of Tampa Bay, Florida and Debbie Hagley (Ray) of Jerome, Idaho; a great number of nieces and nephews; a large extended family and his lifetime partner of 33 wonderful years, Duane Cindric.
Michael was an avid bridge player, was a Silver Lifemaster and the owner of the Denver Metro Bridge Studio of Denver, Colorado, which was operated for over 30 years. At one point in his life, Michael also chose to show old English Sheep Dogs and actually have won several Blue Ribbons.
Immediate funeral services are private. Arrangements for Michael's final care have been entrusted to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555.
The family will be hosting a private Celebration of Life for Michael which will take place in Twin, Falls, Idaho at an undisclosed date and time during the last week in January, 2020.
