Mildred Ares' Obituary
Mildred Ares, 73, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026. She was born on December 9, 1952, in New York, New York, to the late Luz (Martinez) Ares.
Mildred made Fort Myers her home and devoted more than 30 years of loyal service to the Lee County Tax Collector’s Office. She was known for her dedication, strong work ethic, and warm spirit that touched colleagues and community members alike.
Above all, Mildred’s greatest joy in life was her family. Her children and grandchildren were truly her world, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with them.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Shareen Mirise and her husband Shane, and Melissa Rentas. She also leaves behind her siblings, Linda Ricarvet, Ruben Ares, and Johnny Ares.
Mildred cherished her role as a grandmother and is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Keathan, Kayden, Binyamin, Rachel, Michael, Matisyahu, and Mendel.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Judy.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will follow immediately at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers.
