Mildred Louise Barth's Obituary
Mildred Louise Barth was welcomed home by her Heavenly Father on Dec. 31 2012 in Ft. Myers FL. She was a faithful prayer warrior, who took the needs of her family, friends and caregivers to her Lord daily.Mildred was born March 17, 1924 in Dayton Ohio. She attended Parker Cooperative High School, one of the few cooperative schools in the country. Her first job was in the payroll department of the Dayton Board of Education for the magnificent salary of $1.00 for an eight hour day and fifty cents for half a day on Saturday. With World War II looming on the horizon, her next job was in the personnel department of Standard Register preparing conversion to defense work. Mildred enlisted in the United States Navy WAVES serving her country during WWII. She came home on leave in February of 1946 to marry her longtime, hometown sweetheart Jack Barth, who had just been discharged from the Navy himself. Following discharge she and Jack both worked part time jobs and started their family while Jack obtained his degree in dentistry from Ohio State University.Mildred and Jack continued to live and raise their five children in the Dayton Ohio area until they moved their family to Ft. Myers, FL in 1966 where Jack practiced dentistry and Mildred was a homemaker. Mildred returned to the workforce as a medical transcriptionist after Jack’s death in 1974 and continued working in the Ft. Myers area until she retired in 1989. Mildred is survived by all five of her children; sons Charles Ray Barth (Nancy) of Orlando FL, Jeffrey Scott Barth (Ruth) of Altha FL, Dana Alan Barth (Diane) of Cape Coral FL, daughters Joan Marie (Barth) Street (Tim) of Williston FL and Julia Ann (Barth) Burley (Richard) of Ft. Myers.She is also survived by ten grandchildren; Kristy Lynn (Barth) Carcara (Jeffrey) of Texas, Jason Patrick Street of Virginia, Holly Jo (Barth) Sims (Zacc) of Altha FL, Dr. Nicholas Jay Barth (Amber) of Altha, Justin Lee Burley (Angela) of Ft. Myers, Nathan Lee Burley (Annie) of Ft. Myers, Heidi Erin (Barth) Stone (Michael) of Clarksville FL, William Falcon Street (Amanda) of Tallahassee Fl, Jake Alan Barth of Orlando and Casey John Barth of Orlando; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Eugene Ray Brown of Orlando, and her husband’s only sister, Bonnie Lee (Barth) Lambert of Macon GA.Mildred was preceded in death by her loving husband Dr. Jack ‘E’ Barth of Ft Myers FL, parents Bernard Cletise Brown and Ena Alva (Ray) Brown, her sister Virginia Lola (Brown) Huskey, brothers Bernard Cletise “Jack” Brown Jr and David Robert Brown, all of Dayton, Ohio.The funeral service will to be held at 11 am at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Chapel on Saturday January 5, 2013.
