Mildred Audrey Whitten's Obituary
Mildred Audrey Whitten, Age 92, of Ft Myers, passed away on Sept. 14, 2019, at the home of her daughter Linda, under the care of Hope Hospice. She was born on Dec 17, 1926, in Punta Gorda, Florida and grew up in Fort Myers. She was a 3rd generation Floridian. Her Great-Grandparents, Thomas & Sarah Summerall, moved from Georgia to Florida in the early 1800s. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul, son Robert, siblings Lee Roy, Leola, Annie, Eugene, Thelma, Richard, Sterling, Dorothy, and granddaughter, Tammy Cross. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Dehon, sons, Paul (Joan) Whitten and Harry (Mary) Whitten, 15 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren, 7 Great-Great Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mildred was a devoted wife and mother working at home to raise her family. After her children left home she worked for Maas Brothers for twenty years. She retired in 1986 to travel with her husband.A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, Sept 21, 2019, in the Chapel at Hope Hospice, 2430 Diplomat Pkwy E, Cape Coral, FL 33909 There will be a private burial earlier in the week.
