Miles "Bob" Robert Daniels' Obituary
Miles “Bob” Robert Daniels, 90, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Cape Coral Hospital.
Bob was born on August 21, 1931, in Binghamton, New York. He was a Fireman for the Montgomery County, Maryland Fire department. He then served his country during the Korean War as a Fireman and obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He ultimately served in all four military branches but loved the Air Force best. Upon his return to the states, he began a career as a Policeman with the Montgomery County Police Department. He retired as a Captain of the Detectives Division after over 21 years of faithful service. He then moved to Florida and worked as an Investigator and Pilot for the Office of the State Attorney, 20th Judicial Circuit. He also piloted DC-3s for the Lee County Mosquito Control. He married the love of his life, Carla (McCumber), in 1985. Together, they built a life filled with travel and making memories with their family. He loved reading, fishing, and boating, but he especially loved to fly. He was a Life Member of the VFW and a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Carla, three children, Dean (Faith), Drew (Iris), and Amy Davis (Richard), eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Lillian, and his brother, Dean.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33907. The service will begin at 1:00 pm. The Reverend John Zender will be officiating. Interment immediately follows the service.
