Minor L. Bott Jr.'s Obituary
Minor L. Bott, Jr. of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully but unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, November 7, 2020. He was 96 years old.
Mr. Bott was born in Silver City, Mississippi on January 16, 1924, the proud son to Jessie N. (Murff) and Minor L. Bott Sr. He was a member of the United States Army Air Forces during World War II and later attended college receiving his Master's Degree in Education. After serving as a classroom instructor for many years, Mr. Bott later retired from the Lee County School District as a Middle School Teacher.
Mr. Bott leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife Johnnie (Black) Bott and his daughter Deborah L. Harwood (Carl) of Fort Myers. He also leaves behind has grandchildren D. Carlene Harwood of Winter Haven and Casey Browning of Cape Coral along with a large and loving extended family and many others whom he met on life's pathway and were proud to call him a friend. He will always be warmly remembered and fondly missed. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his daughter N. Jeanne Smith who passed away this past June.
A Graveside Service for Mr. Bott will be celebrated by Pastor David Miller of McGregor Baptist Church at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 13, 2020 inside the Devotion Garden located at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Military Honors for Mr. Bott will also be provided by the United States Army at the conclusion of this ceremony following which he will be laid to rest.
