Morgan L. House's Obituary
Morgan L. House, 86, of Winter Park, Florida, passed away December 12, 2012. He was born September 21, 1926 in Bushnell, Florida to the late Homer and Theresa (Lanier) House.When Morgan was a small boy his family moved to Lee County. He grew up and spent almost his entire life on Pine Island. He attended J. Colin English Elementary, Fort Myers Jr. High and Fort Myers High Schools. He was a star athlete, captain of the football team and inducted in the Southwest Florida Athletes Hall of Fame. He loved to hunt, fish and cook out. Morgan?ÇÖs entire career was in service for the Fort Myers Police Department. He began in 1949 and was Chief from 1974 till his retirement in 1986.In addition to his parents, Morgan was preceded in death by his sister, Pauline Morton. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Marion; children, Michael House, Donna Fritcher and her husband Howard, David House and his wife Debbie and Sissy Mason and her husband Daran; grandchildren, Kelly, Jarret, Kimberly, Alex, Austin, Christopher, Patrick, Jillian, Morgan and Jennings; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Ethan, Ty and Ashleigh.There will be a visitation on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, Florida 33907. Funeral will begin at 2:00 PM with Police Honors and entombment to follow.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Police Benevolent Fund at www.flpba.org.
