Muriel M. Smith's Obituary
Muriel M. Smith, 82, of Fort Myers, passed away August 12, 2012. Muriel was born July 15, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois. ?áShe was a life long resident of Champaign, IL and has been a resident of Lee County for nearly 18 months. Muriel was a member of The 1st Baptist church of Champaign, IL and an elementary school teacher. Her life work was spent teaching with her now deceased husband, Robert Smith. They were married for almost 60 years and spent their time teaching architecture and lighting during seminars and class time. Muriel along with her husband loved traveling to Europe. Together they visited each of the 50 states. Muriel leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Cindy Brown of Fort Myers and her sister, Sara Ellis of Springfield, IL. She was also survived by her grandchildren, Derrick Brown of Wilmington, NC, Danielle Jones of Fort Drum, NY, Rachel Smith of Denver, CO. and Elizabeth Smith by way of Kansas City University. Muriel had a great grand child, Braydon Jones. ?áShe was predeceased by her husband, Robert Smith and her son, Brad J. Smith. A memorial service and celebration of Muriel?ÇÖs life will be conducted on August 25, 2012 at the 1st Baptist Church of Champaign, IL.
