Myra Frances Walker's Obituary
Myra Frances Walker of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in Hope Hospice, HealthPark after some recent health issues. She was 90. Myra was born Friday, September 3, 1926 in Springfield, Illinois to the late David William and Maude M. Simpson. Professionally, Myra worked as a secretary within the public defender’s office. She was a member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Sorority and the Fort Myers Women’s Community Club. Myra was also a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a former member of Holy Trinity Presbyterian. In addition to her parents, Myra is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles William Walker (1976) and a granddaughter, Amanda Magrisso. Myra is survived by her children; Terry (Nancy) Walker, Mark (Brenda) Walker, Cheryl (Tom) Thompson and Vicki (Tim) Quinn. She is also survived by her brother, David Simpson and two sisters, Joyce Gutstein and Betty Price. Myra is also the loving grandmother of eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held 1:00pm Saturday, March 11, 2017 in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33907. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hope Hospice 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, Florida 33908.
