Myrle M. (Jorgenson) Maurer's Obituary
Myrle Marie (Jorgenson) Maurer, 91. Myrle was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin on August 14, 1929. Myrle passed away in Fort Myers, Florida on June 30, 2021. Myrle attended high school in Kenosha and met the love of her life Norbert Peter Maurer and were married in Kenosha on June 24, 1950.
Myrle and her husband moved to Miami, Florida in 1952 and later moved to Coral Gables, Florida. She moved to Fort Myers, Florida in 1992 and remained there until her passing. She was a member of Little Flower Parish in Coral Gables and became a member of the Church of the Resurrection when she moved to Fort Myers. Myrle was a member of social affiliations, Red Hat Society, Continentals, and the Lunch Bunch. She always enjoyed socializing and spent many days with friends driving to different areas of the state to shop at the outlet malls.
Myrle and her husband raised two children, Michael J. Maurer, and Diane E. Maurer. Diane preceded Myrle in death in 2008. Her husband preceded her in 1991 and has been anxiously awaiting her ever since. Myrle had four grandchildren Nicholas, Corey, Devin, and Kyle, (Lindsey): and five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Trevor, Olivia, Zen, and Luca
Myrle was also preceded in death by her brothers, Wallace, (Faye),George, (Shirley), Merton,(Mary), and Lee Jorgenson, (Kay). Her mother, Mary Josephine Jorgenson and father, George Jorgenson also preceded her.
Her everlasting smile and beauty will be deeply missed. But her love for life and her family will always be in our memory and forever in our hearts.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord, 8121 Cypress Lake Dr, Fort Myers, FL 33919 with burial to follow in Lee Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6 - 8 PM Monday, July 5, 2021 in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907, 239-936-0555.
