Nancy Bishop-Welch's Obituary
Nancy Bishop-Welch, 69, a four-year resident of Fort Myers Beach, FL, formerly of Ashburn, VA passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 23, 2020. She was born in Arlington, VA on January 8, 1951 to the late Taylor Bishop and Mary Ellen Johnston.
Nancy was raised by her maternal aunt and husband Robert and Virginia McCarty beginning at the age of four and grew up in Front Royal, Virginia. She was an Information Technology professional and an Accountant with Freddie Mac. With Robert’s unexpected death in 1992, she built a home in Ashburn, VA to care for her “mom” Virginia and obtained her Realtor license to care for Virginia and work part time as a Realtor with Long and Foster. She loved cooking, jewelry making and her beloved cats. She loved to travel and finally made her dream cruise in the Hawaiian Islands in 2012.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Ralph Welch of Fort Myers Beach, FL; her dear friend, Beth Burris and her family from Texas; as well as friends from both Virginia and Florida.
No formal services are planned at this time.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in loving memory of Nancy Bishop-Welch.
