Nancy Carroll DeLong's Obituary
Nancy Carroll DeLong of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 23, 2017 in HealthPark Medical Center of Fort Myers, Florida. She was 84. She was born Saturday, August 13, 1932 in Louisa, Kentucky to the late Leslie and Hope Smith. Nancy had an adventurous spirit enjoying traveling, RV camping and taking over sixteen cruises. In years past, Nancy also enjoyed square dancing, baking and working with ceramics. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Leslie DeLong (2013) and five brothers and sisters; Billie Jo, Carl, Iris, Darlene and Russell. Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, James E. DeLong and their daughter, Carol Channels (Richard). She is also survived by two sisters, Tonnia Meadows and Ahrea Miller. Nancy is the loving grandmother to four grandsons, Brandon Renfroe (Sonja), Nathaniel, James (Jimmy) DeLong (Kristy) and Brent. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, dear sister and beloved grandmother who will be dearly missed. Visitation will be 10:30 am until 11:30 am followed by funeral ceremony at 11:30 am, Thursday, June 29, 2017 in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33907. Interment will follow in Sarasota National Cemetery 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, Florida 34241.
