Nancy Anne Eckert's Obituary
Nancy Anne Eckert, 54, peacefully passed away August 2, 2013 at Hope Hospice. She was born on September 20, 1958 in Erie, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Frank and Mary Kaminski. She served 4 years in the Air Force and returned to Erie where she met and married David Eckert on September 10, 1983. They moved to Fort Myers in 1999 where they have lived in Cross Creek Estates. Nancy was last employed with FGCU in the Services Learning Department and was actively involved with many nonprofit organizations such as PACE Center for Girls and Arts for ACT. She was also very involved with the Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Women in Business. Nancy and her husband had a passion for boating that spawned a hobby of crafting seashell wreaths from locally collected shells which she sold through Wild Child Art Gallery on Matlacha. She is survived by her husband, David, of 29 years and 5 siblings: Carl Kaminski, Linda Alonge and Philip Kaminski, of Erie, Larry Kaminski of Ohio and Frank Kaminski of Michigan along with numerous nieces and nephews. You may pay your respects at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., on Friday, August 9, 2013 from 5:00 – 7:30 PM. A brief memorial service will follow at 7:30.
