Nancy McNicholas Troast's Obituary
Dr. Nancy McNicholas Troast, D.O. of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Gulf Coast Medical Center after some recent health challenges. She was 60. Nancy was born April 28, 1957 in Camden, New Jersey; the beautiful daughter of the late Leo and Milena McNicholas. After graduating from Valley High School in Pennsylvania, she began her college career at Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania. Continuing on, Nancy received her doctorate degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia. Her career path brought her to Fort Myers, Florida where she was an integral part of the medical community. Dr. Nancy was also an active member of St. Michael Lutheran Church, Fort Myers, Florida. Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Darrell L. Troast, and their five daughters, Lindsey, Alexandra, Hannah, Samantha, and Rebecca. She also leaves behind her brothers and sister, David McNicholas, Amy Kroll, Steven McNicholas, and Christopher McNicholas. Her profession was healing but Nancy’s passion was her family and community. Visitation will be 5pm until 8pm, Friday, July 7, 2017 in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907. Celebration of Life services will be 2pm Saturday, July 8, 2017 at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 3595 Broadway, Fort Myers, Florida 33901. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation.
