Nannie "Nan" Johnson's Obituary
Nannie “Nan” Johnson of Fort Myers Florida passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Friday, July 13, 2018 following some recent health challenges. She was 94 years old.Nan was born on September 15, 1923 in Inman, Virginia, the beautiful daughter to Minnie M. (Fields) and Wilson W. Doby. She spent her working life as a seamstress and was the devoted wife to Howard J. Johnson who preceded her in death in 2004. She was also a loving mother to five wonderful children. Nan was known to be stubborn but was greatly respected by all who knew her. She was kind to friend and stranger alike and was loved by her family. She will be greatly missed.Nan leaves to cherish her memory her children Debra Bush (Ron) of Fort Myers, Betty Seward (Gary) of North Fort Myers and H. Jay Johnson (Dianne) of Cape Coral. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her siblings Betty Jo France, Donald Doby, Wanda Faye Roop and Mickey Sue Creech and her daughter-in-law Barbara M. Johnson. Sadly, Nan was predeceased by her parents; husband; children, Jerry L. Johnson and LaDonna G. Kisner; one grandchild; one great-grandchild and her siblings Hobert Lee Doby, Pete Doby, Dovey Jean Goins and an infant baby brother.A Funeral Service for Nan will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 20, 2018 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Visitation for Nan will be conducted for an hour preceding this ceremony beginning at 10:00 AM also inside the funeral home chapel.
