Nelson Nelson, age 76, passed away peacefully at his residence in Fort Myers, FL on Monday, March 10, 2025. Born in Havana, Cuba to the late Ramon and Rosa (Figueroa) Hernandez, Nelson’s remarkable life began on July 4, 1948.
Nelson was a spirited individual who lived life to the fullest. He had a deep passion for motorcycles and the joy of riding, feeling most alive with the wind in his hair and the open road ahead of him. A family-oriented man, Nelson cherished his loved ones and took immense pleasure in sharing stories—often with a touch of embellishment—that brought laughter and joy to those around him.
Known for his charismatic personality and sense of humor, Nelson was a jokester who effortlessly made connections wherever he went. Whether in his beloved Florida or his former home in the Bronx, NY, he had a unique ability to make friends easily and spread happiness, joy and laughter.
Nelson moved to Fort Myers in 2017, where he quickly developed a love for the Sunshine State, embracing its vibrant culture and warm community. An avid collector and an eccentric at heart, Nelson's interests and collections were as diverse and colorful as his personality. Nelson was preceded in death by his sister, Lisette Coughlin and her husband, Ray; brother-in-law, Todd Goldstein and his niece, Chelsea Vasquez.
Nelson is survived by his brother, Ronald Rodriguez and his wife, Holly from Maryland; sister, Yvette Goldstein of New York; one niece, Kendall Coughlin; two nephews, Jake and Connor; as well as many extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Friday, March 21, 2025, at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 5:30 PM, Friday, March 21, 2025, at the funeral home.
Nelson will be remembered for his boundless energy, his contagious laughter, and his unwavering love for his family and friends. Nelson leaves behind a legacy of joy, camaraderie, and countless cherished memories. He will be deeply missed.
