Nicola DeSalvatore's Obituary
Nicola DeSalvatore was born in Messina Italy, on September 28, 1930. He was multi-talented with skills ranging from construction, to a tailor to a chef. Nick was self-employed and owned several of his own businesses. He ran a successful restaurant, Tony’s Italian Restaurant, on Cypress Gardens Road in Winter Haven Florida for many years. His hobbies were cooking, fishing and boating. Nick was a committed Christian, worshiped at the Catholic Church, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He died on Sunday, March 19th the Feast day of St. Joseph.He is survived by his daughter Felice Gerwitz, and son-in-law Jeff of Ft. Myers, FL; his son Anthony DeSalvatore, and daughter-in-law Darleen of Bradenton, FL; his son Joseph DeSalvatore, and daughter-in-law Nikki of Murfreesboro, TN. His late wife Rose predeceased him in July 1999. He has ten grandchildren: Neal, Christina, Nicholas, Anne and Michael Gerwitz; Megan, Allison (deceased), Luke DeSalvatore and Lexi LoCurcio; Madison DeSalvatore. He has seven great-grandchildren: Emma, Samantha, William, Alex, Benjamin, Olivia and Christopher Moss. Many family members, extended family, and friends have lost a wonderful, caring and loving man.A visitation will be held on Friday, March 24th from 6-8 at the Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens at 1589 Colonial Blvd. Fort Myers, Florida.The Funeral Mass will be held at Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord at 8121 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33919, on Saturday, March 25th at 9:30 am. in the chapel. All are welcome. The internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations be made to EWTN (Eternal World Television Network) http://www.ewtn.com
