Norma M. Viera's Obituary
Norma May Viera, 88, passed away peacefully at Lehigh Acres Healthcare and Nursing Center on June 15, 2019. Born on May 11, 1931 to Delsia and Edward Gaylord in Everett, Massachusetts, Norma spent most of her early years in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She then lived and traveled extensively around the world, finally settling in Florida. She was preceded in death by her two sons, John P Irving IV and James P Irving, her husband John Viera, two sisters, Agnes Anderson (Fowler) and Alba Drain (Fowler) and two brothers Edward and Lloyd Gaylord. Norma is survived by three grandchildren, John P. Irving V of ME, Jade Irving of VA, Justin Irving of TX, 1 great-grandchild, Jensen Green, 2 nieces, Carlene McAdam and Gail Brandt, both of FL, step-children Joanne Moynihan (Viera) of MA, Harry Viera of NC and Margaret Magana (Viera) of CT, step-grandchildren Peter, John and David Derocha, Christine Roberts (Viera) and Jamie Viera, as well as several extended family members and friends. The family extends our special gratitude to the staff at Lehigh Acres Healthcare & Nursing Center and the visiting ministry of Christ United Methodist Church. Their care and compassion towards Norma brought her peace and comfort and is deeply appreciated. Internment will be private.
