Norman Lee Mitchell, Jr., 92, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026, in Fort Myers.
Born on January 5, 1934, in Plymouth, Massachusetts, Norman was the son of the late Norman Lee Mitchell, Sr. and Edna (Hall) Mitchell. He later made his home in Monroe, Connecticut, before relocating to Fort Myers in 1986, where he enjoyed the sunshine and community he came to love.
A proud veteran, Norman honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a man of Christian faith whose values of dedication, loyalty, and perseverance were evident throughout his life.
Norman had a passion for golf and cherished the many hours he spent on the course. He was also an avid sports fan who faithfully followed his favorite teams, the New York Yankees and the New England Patriots. Whether watching a game or discussing sports with friends and family, he rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his teams.
Above all, Norman treasured the love and companionship he shared with his wife, Virginia Howley. Together since 1974 and married in 1983, they built a life filled with devotion and lasting memories.
Norman is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia Howley, and a cousin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Kevin Walsh and William Walsh.
No services are planned at this time.
Norman will be remembered for his service to his country, his love of sports and golf, and the many lives he touched through his kindness and friendship. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
